KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, July 27 (Xinhua) -- At least nine people including seven militants and two police personnel were killed as military aircraft targeted a Taliban vehicle in Dasht-e-Archi district of northern Afghanistan's Kunduz province on Friday, an eyewitness said.
"The sorties launched against a vehicle of Taliban rebels in Daftani area of Dasht-e-Archi district today morning killing seven insurgents on the spot," the eyewitness told Xinhua, but refused to reveal his identity.
Two police personnel were also killed and two others injured, said the man.
Meanwhile, a local official on condition of anonymity, confirmed the airstrike, saying investigation is underway to determine the facts and casualties.
Airstrikes against Taliban on Daftani area of Dasht-e-Archi district in April had left more than 150 people mostly civilians dead and injured.
